After games of 17, 15 and 11 points, the Montrealer drafted sixth in June was hard-hitting with 32 points, helping the Indiana Pacers win 125-116 against the Nets in Brooklyn.

Mathurin made the Nets see stars from long distance, with six 3-pointers on nine attempts.

Working for 33 minutes, the 20-year-old athlete from Montreal North also converted his 10 free throws.

The Quebecer set a Pacers record for points by a rookie acting as a reserve.

Mathurin offers an average of 21 points per game, in seven games.

Tyrese Haliburton had 26 points.

Isaiah Jackson added 18, one more than Buddy Hield.

The Pacers led 63-62 at the half, and the third quarter was also very tight (29-28 Indiana).

The Pacers stayed in control after a 7-0 streak gave them a 105-95 lead with 8:32 on the clock.

Kyrie Irving had 35 points for the Nets, who have lost their last four games. Kevin Durant provided 26 points.

The two clubs will meet again Monday night in Brooklyn.
