(Charlotte) Montreal’s Bennedict Mathurin scored 15 points on Wednesday as the Indiana Pacers began their exhibition schedule with a 122-97 win over the Hornets in Charlotte.

Mathurin was the Pacers’ busiest back-up, playing 19 minutes.
The 20-year-old athlete from Montreal North was five for five for free throws.
Drafted sixth in June, the former Wildcats also got a rebound and an assist.
Mathurin scored the first five points of the second quarter.
Aaron Nesmith led the visitors with 16 points.
Isaiah Jackson got 13, while Chris Duarte and Myles Turner added 12 apiece.
Indiana will visit the Knicks on Friday, two days before an intrasquad game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Pacers will then host the Knicks and Rockets on October 12 and 14.
Their regular season will begin on October 19 in Indianapolis, against the Washington Wizards.
