While the conflict between Israel and Lebanese Hezbollah has intensified in recent days, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected this Friday before the UN.
It was with a closed face that Benjamin Netanyahu landed in New York where he is expected to deliver a speech to members of the UN. When he got off the plane, he wanted to reaffirm his position on Israeli strikes on the south and east of Lebanon. “Israel will continue to bomb Hezbollah with all its might and will not stop until it achieves its objectives.”
Faced with these strikes, more than 90,000 Lebanese were displaced in five days, a situation which worries the Lebanese government. According to Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib: “Lebanon is today going through a crisis that threatens its very existence. The future of our people and our prosperity are in danger.” In this tense context, Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to the UN is eagerly awaited.
