Benjamin Mendy trial: his very disturbing SMS revealed, the trial turned upside down

Each day brings its share of surprises in the trial of Benjamin Mendy. It must be said that the case against the French world champion is particularly heavy and the accusations very serious. The latter is accused by 7 different women of eight rapes, an attempted rape and a sexual assault for facts which allegedly took place between October 2018 and August 2021. In this trial, the former sportsman is tried alongside his supposed accomplice , Louis Saha Matturie (no relation to footballer Louis Saha) and both men plead not guilty to all charges against them.

The first days of the trial were devoted to the psychological profile of Benjamin Mendy, as well as the method he allegedly used to achieve his ends. It was then the testimonies of the various complainants that were revealed to the trial jury. Chilling stories from young women who found themselves invited to the mansion owned by the former footballer, located away from the neighborhood and whose locking system for certain doors is particularly disturbing. Yesterday, plaintiff number 6 was to be heard by the jurors, but nothing went as planned.

The adjourned trial, disturbing text messages

Of the “additional information” in connection with the trial have been received and the trial has been adjourned to next Monday. Instead, the jurors were able to listen to several exchanges of messages and SMS between the complainants, but also between the complainants and the main accused. Among the list of text messages, one of them, written by complainant number 3 (who accuses the player of having raped her in January 2021) to a friend is quite eloquent. “One of the girls I know was raped by Mendy. I found out about it today. It’s crazy! Yes it was recent”, reveals the young woman. Subsequently, she indicates that she went to party with the 28-year-old footballer before declaring to her friend that she had been sexually assaulted by the latter.

Benjamin Mendy remains presumed innocent of the charges against him until the final judgment.
