“Benjamin Franklin”: inventor, traveler and negotiator

Spring brings its new “Ken Burns”, another great documentary-river, once again using the technique of energizing still images (here, a lot of paintings…), excerpts from personal archives and comments from specialists to tell the singular destiny of an exceptional character. This time, he dwells on the busy life of the inventor of the lightning rod, the creator of the first lending library in the United States, one of the signers of the American Declaration of Independence and a great traveler, for its time. The two episodes, broadcast in bursts, dwell on his scientific and political exploits, without however avoiding his contradictions… A fascinating portrait, as long as the predictable and repetitive form does not undermine your interest.
