It’s the back-to-school event. After seven seasons spent in Do not touch My TVBenjamin Castaldi decided to leave Cyril Hanouna’s show to take a new turn in his career: that of writing and directing. The star host of TF1 teamed up with successful writer Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt to write the play Bungalow 21, in which two legendary couples from French cinema stay at the same time in the luxurious Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. These two couples are Simone Signoret and Yves Montand on the one hand, and Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller on the other.
Through meetings and discussions, the two Hollywood stars become friends, until the day Arthur Miller runs away, causing Marilyn Monroe to fall into depression and addiction to barbiturates. A shocking play, in which Emmanuelle and Mathilde Seigner perform. The two male title roles are played by Vincent Winterhalter and Michaël Cohen.

”I feel liberated”
Since several weeks, Benjamin Castaldi continues interviews to promote this play, but also from the novel based on the latter, and published by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt by Albin Michel editions. Guest this Tuesday September 12 from South Radio In The eye of the expert, Benjamin Castaldi has once again answered tireless questions about his participation in Touche pas à mon poste for seven years, and the reasons for his departure.
Cash, without filter, the successful host of Secret Story and of Loft Story, revealed that the show’s editorial shift had stifled him last season, and led him to make the abrupt decision to leave: ”I feel liberated because in fact (…) the editorial turn that the show took was essential to be able to remain in the best talk shows. And me, as I have already said, I am not a political columnist, I am not a sociologist, and I have nothing to say, and I do not want to give my opinion, either on the abaya, nor on… It’s not my job!”
”I wasn’t paid shit!”
And to continue: ”I had a very complicated year (…) We looked at my ex-wives, my bad stories, my debts, all my escapades, my breasts, my little eyes (… ) That’s not what bothered me. What bothered me was that, one, I wasn’t present at all for the last six months, we’re not going to lie. I didn’t say anything more. That’s the worst thing. And the more I realized that I was useless, the less I spoke.
Annoyed by the jokes of Cyril Hanouna who regularly reminded him on the show that he did not speak and that he ‘was paid nothing’Benjamin Castaldi ended up making a decision that the host and producer of TPMP respected: ”Cyril was obviously aware, even if we are great friends and we call each other every other day, I understand that it must have annoyed him to pay Castaldi so that the guy wouldn’t say anything on the air (…) Already, in December I was struggling, I wasn’t feeling well, and I knew I had to move on.
