In 2014, after eight seasons spent hosting Secret StoryBenjamin Castaldi chose, of his own free will, to leave the TF1 group to lead the relaunch of the New star on D8. An opportunity which did not prove fruitful, and which led the host to leave for NRJ12 to animate The Academy of Nine for a few months, before finally swallowing his pride by agreeing in September 2016 to reunite with C8, to become a columnist of TPMP with Géraldine Maillet, Valérie Bénaïm, Matthieu Delormeau and Isabelle Morini-Bosc. In June 2023, after seven seasons spent alongside the latter, the host chose to leaveto take care full-time of a play dedicated to his grandparents Simone Signoret and Yves Montand, called Bungalow 21written by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt and brought to the stage by Emmanuelle and Mathilde Seigner.
A few weeks ago, TF1 formalized the big return of Secret Story on its antennae. After six years of absence, the cult confinement reality TV, which notably revealed Benoît Dubois, Ayem Nour and Caroline Receveur, will be back next spring, and will always be hosted by Christophe Beaugrand and Dominique Duforest (a.k.a The voice). A former “TPMP” columnist attacks Benjamin
A gratuitous wickedness, contested by the journalist Clément Garin, who worked with Benjamin Castaldi for a long time on TPMP and on TPMP Weekend : “My unwavering support for Christophe Beaugrand, unfairly attacked by Benjamin Castaldi in an extremely violent Instagram post. Benjamin really has a lot of trouble understanding and admitting that the comments he made TPMP were incompatible with a return to animation in this format.
