Helped by their young quarterback, who delivered his best performance of the season, the Bengals scored points in their first four series on offense.

Burrow finished the game with 34 completions on 42 attempts for 481 yards and three touchdowns. He added a major with a one-yard run in the third quarter.

Receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd both hit the 100-yard passing plateau in the first half.

Boyd set a career-high 155 yards on eight catches. Chase also caught eight of Burrow’s passes, for 130 yards and two majors.

Tee Higgins of the Bengals caught five passes for 93 yards, including a 22-yard pass that allowed Burrow to score a major in the third quarter. It was the Bengals’ last touchdown.

“There’s no defense in the NFL that can stop what we have,” Higgins said.

The defending AFC champions Bengals (4-3) are above .500 for the first time this season.

“I hope you all listened when I came here 0-2 and told you to be patient,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said. This season is very young. We know what kind of team we have and the confidence I have in these players and coaches. This season is only in its infancy. Today we had the opportunity to distance ourselves a little. »

In the Falcons’ 3-4 loss, quarterback Marcus Mariota completed just eight passes and their solid ground offense was held in check.

Mariota had just 124 yards through the air and Atlanta was limited to 214 yards, compared to 537 for the Bengals.
