Unfortunately, the name of Bénabar did not sell enough and the organizers decided to cancel this evening altogether, as they announced in an official press release shared on Friday June 24, 2022.
The filling level of the concerts of the evening with Bénabar as headliner forces us to make the painful and reasonable decision not to maintain this evening.
“It is with great disappointment and immense sadness that we are forced to announce the cancellation of the second evening of the Les Brumes en jeunes Loire festival which was to take place on Saturday July 9 at the Sainte-Sigolène sports complex, can we read. The number of concerts of the evening with Bénabar as headliners, three weeks before the launch of the event, forces us to take the painful and reasonable decision not to maintain this evening, in order not to face very important management problems and thus definitively jeopardize the future of the Brumes.“
That evening, the Brumes festival audience should have applauded Bénabar and Wejdene in the first part. A rather surprising mix of genres that only attracted a few people: in total, only a hundred tickets were sold. Fortunately, the tickets purchased are now refundable and the previous evening, July 8, 2022, featuring Christophe Mae, has been maintained.
“The inflationary economic situation and the anxiety-provoking international context are considerably constraining the resumption of live performance activity and more particularly summer festivals, which are facing, for the most part, a sharp decline in their bookings” we add in the press release. When he just finished The tour of the Indociles, Bénabar will however have the opportunity to go back on stage this summer.
