The beluga rescue operation that had been swimming in the Seine for ten days unfortunately did not bear fruit. On the road between Saint-Pierre-la-Garenne (Eure) and Ouistreham (Calvados), on the night of Tuesday August 9 to Wednesday August 10, the animal had to be euthanized.

The 800-ton cetacean had to be taken out of the river in which it had been wandering for ten days to be placed in a pool of salt water, before being reintegrated into the sea. The animal, which no longer fed, was weakened and had lost weight. weight.
