(Toronto) Some Canadians will have to pay more to use their cellphones when traveling abroad starting next week.
Telus and Bell announced they would increase roaming rates starting March 8 and 9, respectively.
Telus said on its website that its customers will pay $14 per day when traveling in the United States, up from $12 previously, while those visiting other destinations will be charged $16 per day, which is an increase. $1 from the previous rate.
Bell users, for their part, will have to pay daily charges of $13 for roaming in the United States, compared to $12 previously, and $16 in other countries, compared to $15 previously.
Rogers charges $12 and $15 for daily roaming in the US and internationally, respectively. The company did not announce a similar hike for this month.
