Belgian actress Emilie Dequenne announces she has a rare cancer on Instagram

Belgian actress Emilie Dequenne was revealed at Cannes in 1999 in “Rosetta” by the Dardenne brothers which won her the prize for best actress and received the César for best supporting actress in 2021 for “Les Choses qu ‘we say, the things we do’ by Emmanuel Mouret.

It was on her Instagram account that the Belgian actress posted, on a black background, a long message in which she explained that she had to move on to Belgium “4 great projects until the end of the year” but since mid-August “where I underwent a major emergency operation”, she continues to take care of herself and is determined “to overcome this rare cancer which has decided to turn my life upside down”.

She also announces that she will be absent from the sets and previews “but not screens! 5 upcoming feature films already in the can” including the film Completely burnt out by Gilles Legardinier in theaters on November 1st.
