Five members of Team Canada’s delegation to Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympics are currently under COVID-19 protocol, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) has announced.
The COC announced the figures in a statement outlining its plans to share information related to COVID-19 cases during the Games.
The COC has revealed that it will provide an update on the number of team members under protocol as part of its daily summaries from February 4, when the Games officially kick off. It will provide updates when possible before the start of the Olympics.
The COC added that the names of protocol registrants will not be shared unless an athlete who cannot compete in their event due to a confirmed positive test wishes to release that information.
The 246-person Team Canada delegation includes athletes, coaches and mission team members.
