Before embarking on work

Reno fever is contagious and invariably recurs in the fall. Heritage Montreal and Écohabitation are therefore coming back to the task with their training programs intended to guide those who wish to undertake work.

Renovation lessons

Heritage Montreal is once again offering its Renovation Lesson Series to help homeowners understand their homes and make good decisions. The courses, offered by videoconference, are designed to allow you to prepare well and make wise choices, by surrounding yourself with the right resources and by adopting eco-responsible practices. In the winter session, a more pointed look will be directed to various places that deserve special attention: the foundations and the structure, the roof, the insulation and the exterior walls, the doors, the windows and the exterior woodwork, as well as as mechanical and electrical systems. Those interested can register for a single lesson ($ 83), four lessons ($ 305), or eight ($ 429). A 15% discount is granted to members of Heritage Montreal.

Ecological renovations

The non-profit organization Écohabitation also continues to offer its training programs, providing them online. The emphasis is obviously on green construction and renovation. Homeowners planning to do major renovations will learn how to save energy by improving the energy performance, comfort and value of their home. A second webinar will focus on choosing sustainable, affordable and low environmental impact materials and products to create a healthy interior. The two training programs, which last one day each, will be given on December 4 and 11. They can be followed individually (from $ 165). A $ 50 discount is granted when registering for both training programs (starting at $ 280).
