This is the “affair” that has shaken the world of cinema since mid-August 2023. Indeed, since this period, many cinema customers have complained of stings after their visit to certain cinemas, particularly after attending a screening at the UGC Bercy cinema (12th arrondissement of Paris). Contacted by RTLthe UGC Ciné Cité Les Halles cinema quickly defended itself by citing a problem “chronic” which has existed for a long time.
“This problem has existed for a long time. We deal with it every week, and as soon as there is a report, we intervene again”declared the cinema, before the UGC group published a press release on September 4 to remind us that “the scourge of bedbugs affects all places open to the public, as well as private residences in France. We are sincerely sorry for all the people who have suffered bedbug bites.”

The castle of the “Star Academy” also affected by bedbugs?
However, these insects are not limited to French cinemas, they also seem to appreciate beautiful and vast castles, like the one located in Dammarie-les-Lys, for example. Indeed, the castle which welcomes the candidates of the star Academyis also facing an infestation of insects, particularly bedbugs, and has been for some time. At least that’s what was revealed Jean-Pascal Lacoste on October 24, 2022.
The candidate for the first season of the talent show hosted by Nikos Aliagas made numerous revelations to Cyril Hanouna on the set of TPMP on the occasion of the return of the Star Ac’ last October. When Guillaume Genton asked him if there was an invasion of cockroaches at the castle, Jenifera’s ex-companion wanted to clarify: “No, that’s bullshit. There aren’t any cockroaches.”before adding: “there are bedbugs because it’s very hot. They are invaded by bedbugs. And they have had to unclog the toilets very regularly because the toilets are clogged regularly. It’s very old, everything is a bit broken . It’s very complicated !”
This information was confirmed by the candidates and teachers during their first days at the castle. We remember in particular the great fear of Yanis Marshall, broadcast in the program of October 17, when he was confronted with “a flying bug”. Fortunately, small critters don’t attack big ones.
