(Quebec) The driver of a heavy truck lost his life following an accident on Route 112 in Beauce on Friday.
The septuagenarian, driving a 53-foot truck, left the road around 9:40 a.m. in the municipality of Saint-Frédéric, in Chaudière-Appalaches.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the truck overturned in the ditch and the driver was trapped under the cabin.
The man was transported in critical condition to hospital where he was pronounced dead, said SQ spokeswoman Hélène St-Pierre.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes of this accident.
