The victim, “an elderly lady”, suffered serious injuries and had to be transported to a hospital, according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), which was awaiting a health check in early evening.

The collision occurred around 5 p.m. in the Beaconsfield area near the intersection of Elm and Woodland avenues. According to information from various witnesses, the pedestrian was walking north on Woodland Avenue.

“When she passed on the railway, at the same time, a Canadian National train traveling westbound caught the lady. Following the collision, the train came to a stop,” said SPVM spokesperson, agent Jean-Pierre Brabant.
