Paracetamol is often purchased in quantity in pharmacies, starting with boxes of doliprane. This can sometimes lead to shortages in the face of very high demand.
“Maximum four grams per day”
Paracetamol is a medication regularly used, but which is not without risks if the doses are not respected. It is today the leading cause of drug-induced liver transplants in France. “As soon as I deliver a box of paracetamol for example, I say that it is a maximum of four grams per day, and four to six hours between each dose, to avoid overdoses”, indicates a pharmacist. According to the French Observatory for Analgesic Medicines, only 54% of French people are aware of the risks associated with paracetamol in the event of an overdose.
