(Montreal) BCE announced Thursday that its third quarter profit decreased compared to last year, as its revenues increased slightly.
Bell Canada’s parent company says it achieved net income attributable to common shareholders of $640 million, or $0.70 per share, for the quarter ended September 30.
The result compares to a profit of 715 million, or $0.78 per share, a year earlier.
BCE reported operating revenues totaling $6.08 billion, up from $6.02 billion in the same quarter last year.
On an adjusted basis, BCE says it earned $0.81 per share in its most recent quarter, down from $0.88 per share a year ago.
The average analyst estimate was for adjusted earnings of $0.81 per share, based on estimates compiled by financial markets data firm Refinitiv.
