The BBC credits have been around for 25 years. On social networks, many Internet users film themselves dancing to this little cult music from British public broadcasting.

The BBC theme song is a very British tune that has become famous around the world. The sound identity of British public broadcasting is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and it all started with the beep of an electronic clock, as its composer David Lowe details. The beep “gives a sense of reliability, because it has the precision of a clock: one beep per second”explains the composer.

A tune which is probably the only current theme song to make so many viewers dance. On social networks, many people film their hip swings, like a Top 50 song, with a choreography that goes around the world. The BBC, or the “Beeb”, as the British call it, has no plans to change this little cult music. After a quarter of a century, the beep of the “Beeb” is anything but a flop.
