The battle for purchasing power really begins this Thursday, July 7, with the presentation of the anti-inflation bill. Elisabeth Borne called on the opposition to “building compromises”. The anti-inflation bill will therefore kick off the first major parliamentary negotiation. To boost purchasing power, the government plans to extend the price shields on gas and electricity, but also the reduction of 18 cents per liter of fuel or even to revalue certain social minima.

But nothing is won to have it adopted. The other parties want to make their demands heard, starting with the left. The right also asks for guarantees. The Republicans are calling in particular for fuel prices to be blocked at 1.50 euros per litre. The text will be debated in the National Assembly from Monday, July 18.
