It was in 2016 that Bastien Vivès adapted, notably with the director Jérémie Perrin, his manga Lastman in an animated version. The series, prohibited for children under 16, was then broadcast late on France 4. But when Netflix took over the series, it experienced new success.

A second season is now available, in a form more suited to platforms: six 52-minute episodes in the form of a kaleidoscope, each episode of which follows one of the characters in particular. Guests of franceinfo, the author of successful comics and Pierre Siracusa, animation director of France Télévisions evoke the opening to animation intended for teenagers and adults.

Pierre Siracusa, animation director of France Télévisions, does not despair of seeing this series prohibited for children under 16 broadcast one day on one of the antennas of France Télévisions and is delighted with the health of the animation sector in France where salaries are skyrocketing due to the shortage of draftsmen.

Lastman heroes is available for free on France Télévisions’ Slash platform.
