The Arizona Wildcats and Quebec’s Bennedict Mathurin were hot, but they secured their place in March Madness’ Sweet 16 by defeating the Christian Texas Horned Frogs by a score of 85 to 80 on Sunday night.
Mathurin was one of his team’s best, posting 30 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. His teammate Christian Koloko was a great help to him, with 28 points.
Mathurin is also the one who saved his team at the end of the second half, when he managed a three-point shot with just over ten seconds to go to force an extension.
Mathurin is therefore the only one of the six Quebecers in action at this edition of March Madness who will participate in the “Sweet 16”. In the next round, the Wildcats will face the Houston Cougars.
