(Paris) The Canadian women maintained their perfect record in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Paris Olympics on Wednesday with a 21-11 victory over China.
Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Sask., and Michelle Plouffe of Edmonton led the Canadian attack with seven points each.
“It’s great to get two wins to start the tournament,” Crozon said. “China is a great team, so big and physical. We had a lot of energy and we were able to make some good defensive plays, which helped us late in the game.”
Katherine Plouffe, Michelle’s twin sister, scored five points.
Canada made seven of its 13 shots for one point and five of 12 for two points.
Canada, which opened the tournament with a 22-14 win over Australia, was scheduled to face Germany later Wednesday.
