The salary arbitration process seemed inevitable, but the Toronto Blue Jays and Bo Bichette avoided the worst. The two clans would have agreed late, Tuesday evening.

At least that’s what the Sportsnet network said on Tuesday.

Bichette and the Toronto team were to meet the referee Thursday in Florida to put an end to their contract dispute.

The details of this new pact have still not been disclosed. However, according to MLB.com, it would be for three years, which would allow Bichette to achieve complete autonomy at the end of the agreement.

In his fourth season in major league baseball in 2022, Bichette maintained a .290 batting average. His 189 hits were an American League high. He also slammed 24 long balls.
