A woman in her thirties died after suffering serious injuries in a snowmobile accident late Saturday in the Kamouraska region of Bas-Saint-Laurent.
The accident occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the Mont-Carmel sector on federated trail 35 at kilometer 201.
The driver was alone on the snowmobile and allegedly lost control of her motorized vehicle before being ejected.
“She suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital where, unfortunately, her death was pronounced there in the hours that followed,” said Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
A police officer in collision investigation went to the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
