Bas-Rhin and Moselle placed on orange alert for “rain-flood” Thursday and Friday

The agency expects a “intense rain-storm episode”. Bas-Rhin and Moselle are placed on orange alert for risk of “rain-flooding” by Météo-France, Thursday May 16. The stormy episode is forecast from 10 p.m. Thursday, and should end at 10 a.m. Friday.

“During the evening, a rain-storm axis sets up over the Bas-Rhin and the Moselle. Sustained rain continues throughout the night until the morning of Friday”explains the forecaster. “The east of the Moselle and the north of the Bas-Rhin seem to be the most exposed sectors.” “The quantities of water expected during the episode are of the order of 30 to 50 mm, locally 80 mm.”
