“I am very worried about the government, and the Family Planning Department is very worried.”declared Sarah Durocher, president of the Family Planning Association, on franceinfo on Wednesday, September 25. The new Prime Minister Michel Barnier affirmed last Sunday, after the announcement of his government, that the “acquired rights” on social issues such as abortion, women’s rights or LGBT rights, would be “preserved” by his ministers. While several of them, notably Bruno Retailleau at the Interior, voted against marriage for all, the inclusion of abortion in the Constitution or against the ban on conversion therapy for LGBT people.
