Barely proclaimed King of England, Charles III narrowly escaped a tragedy!

On Saturday September 10, Charles III was officially proclaimed King of England at St. James’s Palace. Minutes later, on his way back to Buckingham Palace, a man was arrested by police after jumping over security barriers placed on the side of the road. Footage circulating on social media shows six police officers tackling the man to the ground, reports the Mirror. A police spokesperson said: “An arrest was made after a man ran…through the barrier in place. The incident was immediately brought under control by officers and the man is in custody.”

Kissed during a walkabout

During the walkabout of King Charles III, Friday, September 9 in Buckingham, a woman approached to kiss him on the cheek. The latter responding to the name of Jenny Assiminios explained to CNN wanting to console the new sovereign, the day after his mother’s death. “I asked him, ‘Can I kiss you?’ And he said, ‘well, yes!’ So I grabbed it, and I’m very happy”she told the royal correspondent Max Foster. “It never crossed my mind”she said before revealing that the new king “looked sad”. She added that the queen consort’s husband, Camilla Parker-Bowles “is charming, and perfect”.
