Jeffrey Audet faces serious charges: he is accused of having engaged in pimping for six years.

During these years, his alleged victim was also allegedly sexually assaulted, harassed and forced to have sexual relations under threat.

Jeffrey Audet has already been tried for pimping. He was found guilty at the end of his trial last year.

If he had been able to enjoy freedom throughout the proceedings, this time he will wait behind bars until his trial.

In 2018, he encouraged a teenage girl, whom he had just met in a motel, to offer sexual services. The young person was only 17 years old and was on the run at the time. The accused knew she was a minor and promised her she would make quick money.

Incognito policeman

In one week, she had at least 15 clients. It was Audet who managed the advertisements for his services on escort sites and who found clients for him.

After each service offered, she had to give him 50% of her earnings.

But thanks to the determination of her mother who was looking for her, the teenager was found.

The young person, who cannot be named, had called her mother from Audet’s phone. Not recognizing the number, the woman had searched it in a search engine.

She had come across advertisements for sexual services featuring her child in underwear. She immediately called the police.

An investigator from Longueuil then made an appointment incognito with the teenager, and then took her home.

Observation on the sentence

The accused defended himself by denying everything. And even if the teenager herself had said she was a volunteer, judge Antoine Piché had condemned the pimp, since he knew that the young person was 17 years old. The law prohibits causing a minor victim to perform sexual services for payment.

“The fact that the minor voluntarily agrees to offer sexual services does not change anything in the matter. […] Society cannot tolerate the naivety and immaturity of young people being used to encourage minors to offer sexual services for remuneration,” the magistrate wrote in his judgment last November.

Jeffrey Audet must return soon for observations on the sentence in connection with the case involving the minor victim.

He has also just been accused in another case of making death threats against an individual.

He must return to the Montreal courthouse in the coming days.
