(Barcelona) The Barcelona Open semi-finals have been postponed due to rain and will be staged the same day as the final, organizers announced on Saturday.

Matches between Carlos Alcaraz and Alex de Minaur and Pablo Carreno Busta and Diego Schwartzman were each called off when the score was 2-2 in the first set. They will resume at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday.
After hours of hoping for the weather to improve, the semi-finals started late and were quickly cut short as the rain started to fall again.
The rain has been a spoilsport throughout the week in Barcelona. The organizers had to present the third round matches and the quarter-finals on Friday, in order to make up for the time lost due to the numerous interruptions caused by the rain.
