“His tongue forked”estimated the Minister for the Ecological Transition, Barbara Pompili, on Tuesday on franceinfo, in reaction to the remarks of the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, who estimated on Sunday on France Inter that“there is not a Frenchman who thinks” that Emmanuel Macron “was not a good President of the Republic”. “I believe that there are French people who are not necessarily of this opinion, but I hope that a majority of French people think so, of course”she added.

“He’s a little too enthusiastic, Gérald”said Barbara Pompili. “We are, we, in action, we work a lot in the service of the French people and, somewhere, the feeling that we have of having done the maximum and of having a president who is leading us in a direction towards which we wants to go perhaps pushes the enthusiasm, explained the minister. So much the better, I prefer to have enthusiastic people around me than depressed and resigned people.”
