A bar manager died on the night of Thursday to Friday December 10 in La Teste-de-Buch, in the Arcachon basin (Gironde), Franceinfo learned from a police source on Friday December 10. At around 12:45 a.m., the 50-year-old man was fatally stabbed as he tried to separate two fighting customers.

According to France Bleu Gironde, the facts occurred on the public highway in front of the tapas bar “Le Basque du Bassin”, in the port of La Teste-de-Buch. The manager first tried to calm the tensions between the two clients, before intervening and receiving the fatal stabbing. According to the first elements of the investigation, he was affected in the femoral artery.

The two clients who fought, two young people who live in the Arcachon basin according to France Bleu, were arrested and placed in police custody. One of them was injured in the leg and transported to the Bordeaux University Hospital.

A magistrate from the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office went to the site. He entrusted the investigation to the judicial police. Many witnesses present in the bar and outside will be heard during the day. The police should also be able to rely on the images of CCTV cameras.
