(Montreal) The 235 professionals at the Library and National Archives of Quebec have given themselves a strike mandate.
It is in a proportion of 90% that they voted in favor of a five-day strike mandate which would be exercised at the appropriate time.
These workers are members of the Syndicate of Professionals of the Government of Quebec — a large union independent of the central unions.
The collective agreement between professional staff and BAnQ expired on March 31, 2020, as was the case for all unions in the public and parapublic sectors. The latter have since renewed their collective agreements for 2020-2023.
The dispute is mainly about salary increases.
