The number of bankruptcies increased by 43.6% in the first quarter of 2023, compared to the previous year. More than 14,300 companies are affected, i.e. the level before the health crisis.

In the first quarter, business failures were up 43.6% compared to 2022, a return to the level before the Covid-19 crisis. The most affected are VSEs such as hairdressing salons, restaurants or bakeries. The three main reasons are the war in Ukraine, inflation and the energy crisis.
