Three bales, each containing around fifty kilos of cocaine, were found on the beaches of Calvados, the Caen public prosecutor said on the evening of Friday 20 September. They washed up on the beaches of Courseulles-sur-mer and Graye-sur-mer, reports France Bleu Normandie (Calvados – Orne).

According to the Caen public prosecutor’s office, “they were probably dumped at sea.” An investigation is open. The authorities remind that in the event of a similar discovery, it is strictly forbidden to approach them, much less to touch them. The gendarmerie services must be notified immediately.

Similar strandings also occurred in the Manche department, on the northern coast of Cotentin, at Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, as well as in Pas-de-Calais, on the beaches of Audresselles and Ambleteuse, at the end of August.
