This month of November, we always commemorate the Canadian soldiers who fought at the front, during the Great War of 1914-1918, in the European trenches.

What is less remembered is that many Canadians did not want to go there.

In 1917, when the Prime Minister of Canada decided to impose conscription there was strong opposition. And especially in Quebec. For what?
