What happens when children who have lived in a youth center reach majority? For many of them, being catapulted back to life in society, after years of strict supervision, generates a good deal of anxiety. The Laurent commission report in 2021 reported serious shortcomings in the support of these young adults, many of whom had to experience episodes of homelessness. Today, the needs remain glaring.
It is in this context that new initiatives attempt to offer them a transitional environment. We visited one of these establishments.
