Whether they are foreign students, workers or asylum seekers, the place occupied by temporary immigrants in Quebec is growing. Yet they remain sidelined from political discourse, in the shadow of the annual target of 50,000 permanent immigrants maintained by the Legault government. We explore this blind spot in the debate on immigration in the province and we put a face to essential workers from elsewhere.
