On Tuesday, the mayoress of Longueuil, Catherine Fournier, revealed that she was the victim of former MP Harold Lebel, convicted of sexual assault last fall. Today, even if she won her case, the elected official still says she is deeply affected by a “failure” of the justice system, which did not know how to guarantee her anonymity as the law provided for. She now calls for “taking responsibility” to better protect the identity of other victims.
In interview at Pick up the oneMme Fournier looks back on the ordeal she went through and details her hopes for change.
