The word “UFO” has rarely hit the headlines in the mainstream media as often as it has in recent weeks. Here, it is not a question of extraterrestrials, but of unidentified flying objects. In a span of nine days, the US military shot down four in North American airspace, including one on February 11, over Yukon, Canada. If China has recognized that the first object belonged to it, it continues to claim that it is a meteorological balloon gone adrift, while several experts see it rather as a spy device.
