There is an amazing piece of nature in Utah, a colony of 47,000 aspen trees, on just over 100 acres. It looks like a forest, except it’s actually a single, unique tree.

All the trunks you see are actually genetically identical, coming from the same network of interconnected roots underground.
A name has even been given to this organism that is several thousand years old: Pando, which in Latin means “I extend”.
But now, Pando, “the forest tree”, is now threatened.
