Bagnoles-de-l’Orne (3/5) Couterne Castle

Couterne Castle

In the Normandy by bike this week we leave from the thermal spa of Bagnoles-de-l’Orne to reach the Roc au Chien. Our route takes us past the Notre-Dame de Lignou chapel, the Château de Couterne and the stele in homage to the Rosselli brotherstwo Italians murdered in June 1937.

On this stele we can read: “Carlo and Nello Rosselli fell here for justice and freedom under the dagger of the hood by order of the Italian fascist regime on June 9, 1937”.
