Bad Bunny featured the highest-grossing tour of 2022

With earnings totaling $373,463,379, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny tops the magazine’s charts Billboard for the most lucrative tours of the year 2022.

Bad Bunny drew 1,826,339 spectators during the 65 shows it presented this year. He became the first Latino artist, who does not sing in English, to top this annual chart.

We then find Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles and Coldplay in the top-5. This data was compiled between November 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022.

For his farewell tour, undertaken in 2018, Elton John presented 84 shows, attracted 2,071,661 spectators for revenues totaling $334,385,023 in 2022. He dominates in the rock category, on the revenue side, ahead of Coldplay, the Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Def Leppard-Mötley Crüe double.

His ongoing Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour could become the highest-grossing tour of all time with earnings that could reach $900 million.

Lady Gaga is the first woman in this list in 12th position with 125,333,755 for 29 shows. She is followed by Billie Eilish (14th position), Dua Lupa (18th position), Karol G (23rd position) who find themselves in the top-50.

The bands that generated the most revenue were Coldplay (5th position – $208,000,727), the Stones (6th position – $179,349,815), Red Hot Chili Peppers (7th position – 176,998,650), the double Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe (8th position) $173,474,649) and the Eagles (16th position – $104,175,869).

Briton Ed Sheeran was the biggest draw with $3,047,969 for the 63 shows he presented during the year.

New York’s Madison Square Garden leads in entertainment revenue for amphitheaters with more than 15,000 seats. It garnered net revenues of $241,356,906 with 124 shows that hosted 1,757,331 spectators.

Then there is the 02 Arena in London, the Kia Forum in Inglewood, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is in 11th position and the Bell Center in 30th with 48 shows presented in front of 517,637 spectators and revenues totaling $40,033,072.

Harry Styles generated the most revenue in a series of concerts in one amphitheater with 15 performances at Madison Square Garden, 276,852 spectators and receipts totaling $63,102,676. This is a record since these data began to be compiled 30 years ago.
