You may have read our recent texts on the start of the school year, on the start of the artistic year, on the start of the television and radio season, and so on. I’m adding one here, detailing the start of the school year for you The Press !
The newsroom is buzzing with activity these days, with so many great projects everyone is working on. And when I say “everyone,” I include both the journalists you know and all those who have joined us in recent months, in the wake of our priorities this year (which we told you about in January).
We promised you more health, environment and texts and files on the American election campaign, and that is what we are delivering these days thanks to several recent hires.
Newcomers
You have seen their signatures or you will see them soon. I am thinking among others of Marie-Eve Cousineau (health), Chloé Bourquin (environment), Ulysse Bergeron and Camille Dauphinais-Pelletier (business).
I also think of veterans Alain McKenna (digital life), Jean-Hugues Roy (data journalism) and… a certain Paul Arcand!

The king of the airwaves will thus become the king of the podcast, starting September 16, with the daily broadcast at 6 a.m. on our platforms of his famous Press Review.
Added to this will be his weekly columns, starting the following Saturday, which will allow him to take up his pen in order to provide a personal perspective on current events.
Solutions
Our “A World of Solutions” project will be rolled out throughout the fall in our sections. Our journalists will crisscross the planet and bring back in their suitcases solutions from elsewhere to problems that are very much here (I will explain to you tomorrow in more detail the context in which our various projects, such as this one, are taking place).
Keys to understanding
A new weekly section is also appearing in The Press+ : every Monday, go to the Understand section to discover or rediscover our articles of the week that help you better understand current events. This section is accompanied by a new newsletter, which will be written by Alexandre Vigneault.

Health will also benefit from a newsletter, which will be written alternately by the various journalists who cover the sector. Alice Girard-Bossé and Catherine Handfield will collaborate, among others, to cover all aspects of health and well-being.
New classics
One of the highlights of the fall at the Arts will be the publication of monthly issues devoted to Quebec’s flagship works in the 21st century.e century. The first quarter century is upon us, and this has given us the desire to identify works from the last 25 years that have become, in our eyes, “new classics.”
And more
A guest editor will be taking over the Business section for a weekend. So it is he, whose identity I am keeping secret for now, who will guide the choice of topics and the angles brought in. Read in October.
You will of course be able to continue to follow the American election campaign on our platforms, it never fails to keep our team busy! You will thus continue to read well-embodied reports from all four corners of the United States, news, analyses, context and even quizzes.
