Purchasing power worries the French. A bill is currently being discussed in the National Assembly and many measures could be put in place in September 2022.

With inflation, the purchasing power of consumers is strongly impacted and thousands of families are worried as the start of the new school year approaches. The help of the food voucher is greatly expected, with 100 euros, to which are added 50 euros per child. “It is a help, I would even say essential for many households and I would say that it should be extended and made permanent for a time”says a man.

If the food voucher should bring resources to many families, the “cheque back to school school” is also expected. It is capped at 411 euros. For road users who take their car to work, a check ranging from 100 to 300 euros will be collected by the most modest to combat rising gas prices. The amount will be decided on a case-by-case basis depending on income. “It’s good, but it’s a bit restricted”laments a woman.
