“We have seen it very well since the start of the pandemic, a few weeks, it can make a significant difference. Is extending a week or two going to do the trick? ”Asks the president of the Centrale des unions du Québec (CSQ), Éric Gingras.

“We are ready to sit down, discuss, see what will be best, how we are going to do it.”

A doctor, interviewed by TVA Nouvelles, admits that the government faces difficult choices on the issue of returning to school.

“The lack of schooling has really had very negative effects, so we want to prioritize schooling in person, but we will also have to make decisions regarding what role children play in community transmission. Are we going to reach infection rates that will allow this return to school? ”Asks the pediatrician infectious disease specialist and microbiologist, Jesse Papenburg.

Parents would like their children to go back to school.

“I would like it to be face-to-face, but I feel that it may not be,” says a parent.

“At a young age, it’s a lot of activities, a lot of interaction with the children, so it’s not really an age for screens,” believes another.

Everyone agrees that this return to class is safe, especially with the wearing of a mask.
