This Monday, while on his way to work at the Saint-Nazaire hospital, a father, a caregiver by profession, forgot to take his one-year-old baby to the crèche, leaving him in his car in full sun. Under more than 28°C, the 12-month-old little boy unfortunately died a few hours later, suffering from dehydration.
A father surely extremely shocked, who should take a very long time to recover from this tragedy but who will normally be questioned by the police. Indeed, the City Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to find out the exact circumstances of this “absolute tragedy”in the words of the Prosecutor, who did not want to give more details.
As reported by BFMTV, an investigation will also have to determine if this oversight is of the order of an accident and caused by extreme fatigue or difficult family conditions, or if it is about abuse. In this case, if any negligence or will to harm is displayed, a second investigation will be carried out at the level of the couple, of which the woman is also a caregiver.
