Aya Nakamura, Kids United, Soprano… the little dumplings of our friends the stars at the very important “Telethon”

Each year, a new personality supports the Telethon by becoming godfather or godmother during the 30 hours of live broadcast on the France Television channels. The purpose of this operation is to take up a great challenge: to bring the cause of rare diseases to the forefront and help raise the donation counter as high as possible.

The same dumpling every time (or almost)!

Last year, rapper Soprano helped raise more than 73.6 million euros in pledges. Next December 2 and 3 for the 36th edition, it is Kev Adams who has been chosen and who has promised “to make a Telethon like never seen before”in a video shared on social networks.

Let’s hope he won’t make a mistake during the live broadcast, and there have been many over the editions. Indeed, TV zapping of all kinds still broadcast to this day the enormous blunder of Francois Feldman during the 1996 Telethon. As he began his song, the singer shouted to the audience “Everyone stand up!”. In front of him, an audience of sick children in wheelchairs had made him realize his dumpling… he had then immediately completed his sentence with a “the low” to designate the public placed a little higher who could get up…

This is what also happened last year, for the 35th edition, with Soprano. As soon as he arrived on stage, the rapper immediately asked the audience present “Everyone hands up!“Same thing, in the assembly, many people with disabilities were not able to move and therefore to raise their arms…

Five years earlier, one of the members of the Kids United pushed the ditty on a similar controversy. Come sing “All the happiness in the world”a hymn to good humor and optimism, the young Gabriel got carried away and asked the public to stand up: “Everybody stand up! Stand up !”. Embarrassed.

And it’s not the only gag that has been talked about in previous years. In 2019, Aya Nakamura attracted criticism from the general public, for his lunar answer to Nagui’s question: “a message that you could perhaps pass on to those who love and follow you?“. The singer of “Djadja” replied to the side: “Every day I get a lot of love and a lot of support and I think I can’t thank you enough. Thank you for accompanying me, supporting me, encouraging me in what I do. You don’t necessarily see it every day but it boosts me. So. Thanks again”.

And Nagui to insist: “And for the Telethon? If you also have a message for your fans to support the Telethon… before Aya Nakamura stutters: “I invite you to call 3637 to help research and stop… uh… Stop no, uh we have to stop diseases…

To your donations!

As a reminder, the Telethon was created in France in 1987 and helps the French Association against myopathies to finance research projects on neuromuscular genetic diseases mainly, but also on other rare genetic diseases.
