After having spoken at length about one of his most legendary duets (Manhattan-Kabul with Renaud, editor’s note), the 55-year-old artist shared the story of the origin of his stage name. Born Fabienne Demal, the star began her career as Fabby before opting for a drastic change. “At 17 I was already Axelle. Not Red, but Axelle. “I’m sorry for all the Fabiennes that exist, it’s not personal, but I don’t like that name! I didn’t choose it. If I was a boy, they wanted to call me Bernard. We “Don’t choose your name, that’s how it is. My neighbor’s name was Axel, I was always jealous of his name. My other neighbor was a redhead, I always wanted to be a redhead. I stole their identity.”she explained.
